Monday morning at approximately 8:14 a.m. Missoula County 911 was notified that a male snowmobiler had been stuck in the mountains since about 2:00 a.m.

Missoula County Sheriff's Captain Josh Clark says the snowmobiler was reported to be in an area about 7 miles south of Holland Lake.  Missoula County Deputies were notified and gathered more information.

At around 9:00 AM the Seeley Swan Search and Rescue unit was paged for a possible snowmobile rescue.  The Search and Rescue unit was cancelled within an hour, because friends that had been looking for the male were able to locate him at around 10:00 AM.

The missing man had been able to start a fire and spent the night near his snowmobile.  He is a 48 year-old Washington resident.  He was healthy, other then being cold and tired.  The missing man had a cell phone with him and was able to make sporadic and broken contact with those searching for him.
