Missoula Police and Sheriff's Deputies were out in force Monday afternoon, searching for a burglary suspect on 26th Street near C.S. Porter Middle school. A 911 call came in at 12:16 reporting the following...

"A man reported returning to his home on the 2300 block of 26th street to find a suspect in his house," said Sheriff's Office Public Information officer Brenda Bassett. "He said the suspect had a revolver and a handheld radio and claimed to be a law enforcement officer. The victim said his house was in disarray and that the suspect pointed a gun at him before leaving the residence."

Authorities are hoping someone might notice the suspect and call 911.

"Right now we are searching for that suspect. He's reported to be a white male in his 30s or 40s standing about 5'8" tall. He was last seen wearing a dark blue baseball cap a green American Eagle sweatshirt with jeans, and possibly wearing a back pack."

Bassett said the schools in the area have been notified of the manhunt. The suspect was last seen headed southbound on 26th street on foot.
