Sean Christopher Wilde, 28, admitted to detectives with the Missoula police department that he raped a woman on Thursday, June 27 at a residence on River Road.

Deputy Missoula County Attorney Jennifer Clark said on Monday that the female victim reported the assault to Missoula police.

"On June 27, the female reported a sexual assault that occurred on River Road, and identified the suspect as Sean Wilde," Clark said. "She provided the details of what had happened to her. Law enforcement personnel contacted Mr. Wilde, and he admitted that he had raped the female."

Clark said a warrant was issued for Wilde's arrest.

"A warrant was issued for his arrest in the amount of $100,000," Clark said. "He will appear in court on Monday and plead not guilty because most courts will not accept a plea of guilty. Since he is being charged with a felony, Monday's appearance will be in justice court where he will be advised of the charges and his rights, but the case needs to be resolved in district court since it is a felony."

Sexual intercourse without consent is punishable by a sentence of from two years up to life in prison with a $50,000 fine.Wilde is currently in the Missoula county jail.
