Wednesday evening police officers were called to investigate potential drug activity in the 2600 block of Brooks Street. Missoula Police Public information officer Travis Welsh has more details.

“When they arrived they observed a male standing outside of a passenger vehicle occupied by two females,” Welsh said. “The officers made contact with the persons and attempted identify a male who refused to say who he was.”

The man was later identified as thirty-three year old Stephen Everhart, who quickly racked up more charges.

“As it was an official investigation he was subsequently arrested for obstructing a police officer,” Welsh said. “The was male eventually was transported to jail where the there staff there discovered that he was in possession of what is believed to be methamphetamine. He has subsequently been charged with illegal possession of dangerous drugs.”

Welsh said there is potential for more charges like distribution of dangerous drugs.
