Missoula Police responded to the 1700 block of Wyoming street at about 8:00 p.m. Wednesday night for a report of an incident that involved vehicle theft, assault with a weapon, as well as hit and run.

Corporal Shawn Manracksa said the owner of a GMC Yukon attempted to get the suspect out of his vehicle, when the suspect drove away, injuring the victim.

"The suspect, a 20 year-old female was sitting in the drivers seat of a parked GMC Yukon," Manracksa said. "The owner, a 41 year-old Missoula man approached the suspect and demanded that he return the vehicle. The suspect then allegedly pointed a handgun at the victim and left in the vehicle. As he was pulling away, the victim was struck in the leg."

At that point, the suspect began crashing into other vehicles.

"The suspect intentionally struck three parked vehicles as he was leaving the parking lot," Manracksa said. "The suspect and the victim are known to each other and has been identified, however he is still at large. The investigation is continuing."

Manracksa said the suspect is a caucasian male, 5' 10" tall and 175 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information as to his whereabouts is asked to call Missoula Crimestoppers at 721-44-44.
