UPDATE - Monday, August 21 3:00 p.m.

Tiffany Pierce and Augustus Standingrock appeared in Missoula Justice Court on Monday and were charged with deliberate homicide, and accountability to deliberate homicide in the deaths of two people whose partially decomposed bodies were found in the basement of a residence on Strand in Missoula.

Missoula County Attorney Kirsten Pabst asked Judge Marie Anderson that both Pierce and Standingrock be held on $2 million bail.

"As you know, this was a series of brutal crimes involving the murder of two people and the attempted destruction of evidence," Pabst said. "There's no combination of conditions that would ensure the safety of the public if she (Pierce) were released. She repeated the request for Standingrock. "We believe that this defendant presents a grave community safety risk, and that bail should be set accordingly."

Pabst said the victims will have to be identified through their dental records.

Judge Anderson set bail for both suspects at $2 million, and each will be represented by the public defender. Their next court appearance will be September 5.

New information released in the court affidavits filed against 23-year-old Tiffany Pierce and 25-year-old Augustus Standingrock reveal grisly details about the aftermath of a double homicide. According to the report, the victim's bodies were found decomposing in tubs in the basement.

The bodies of a male and female victim were "placed into plastic tubs filled with chemicals," all of which were apparently purchased by Tiffany Pierce. Nearby, an ax and knife with tissue were found.

A roommate reported hearing a girl scream on August 17, and woke up to find blood all over the kitchen floor. Pierce then reportedly walked out of the shower naked, covered in blood and apparently told the roommate that she and Standingrock had killed a girl last night and that the body was in the basement.

When police came to the residence after the roommate communicated what had happened, they found Standingrock with a handgun in the home. Standingrock also had a wounded hand. When police found the bodies in the basement they determined that they had been stabbed to death.
