Missoula Police are now investigating a second case of sexual assault that is alleged to have occurred last weekend, September 26.

"[The rape] was reported Tuesday morning, but it actually occurred last weekend, between Friday night and Saturday morning," said Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh. "A 20-year-old female reported that she had been out with a couple male acquaintances and, after the evening ended, she came back to his house were he forced her to have sex with him against her will."

This is a different rape than the one that University of Montana campus police responded to, which was also reported to have occurred between Saturday Night and Sunday morning.

It is unclear why the incident wasn't reported until Tuesday, but Welsh said that trauma effects people in very different ways and that it can take a lot of courage to come forward after an incident like this.

The male was also in his early twenties.

This incident occurred on Craftsman Place, which is not too far from the intersection of 3rd Street and Reserve. Police could not confirm whether either of the individuals involved were students at the University of Montana.
