Missoula police are still searching for suspects in an odd collection of burglary incidents that was reported early Sunday morning. According to Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh multiple businesses were hit over night.

"A series of businesses in the 400 block of Expressway were entered and, for lack of a better word, ransacked. Some items were taken as a result, but not many, I guess, not as you might expect out of that many businesses," Welsh said. "We are in the process of trying to process all of the evidence we gathered and see if we can determine who was responsible."

It appears that safes were targeted in each businesses, but one of the odd features of the case is the type of stuff taken.

"Their office equipment type stuff was taken, the most significant thing was that it appeared they looked everywhere for whatever it was they were looking for, or for anything of value," Welsh said. They threw papers around, emptied out filing cabinets, moved things around, took things from one business and left them in another one."

Welsh says that even furniture was found moved from business to business. Anyone with information about this case is advised to call Missoula Crimestoppers at 721-4444.
