As another winter develops in Montana, skiers can sleep easy and wait for the snow to stack up.The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Climate Prediction Center canceled the prediction of an El Nino season.

Earlier this winter, there was an El Nino weather pattern. There was talks that the temperature of the Pacific Ocean would cause a warmer and drier winter for the Northwest region.

The past two years, Montanan’s experienced a La Nina weather pattern and heavy snowfall.

It is tough to predict these weather patterns because they happen so quickly.  If there is a bunch of snow in the early season, get out there and ski because the outlook could change and the snow could stall out.
