At least one Missoula theater-goer was unfazed by the massacre of 12 people and the wounding of 70 others at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado early Friday morning. KGVO news spoke with several individuals heading towards the theater. One man commented that he had heard about the shootings, but said ‘it was an isolated incident’

He said ‘that would never happen here in Missoula, Montana. KGVO News spoke with Sergeant Jerry Odlin with the Missoula Police department who said the local Carmike Theater management had not asked for any security, or even asked for police to just drive by either location. Local theater management had been told by their corporate office not to upset theater patrons with any discussion of the events in Colorado. KGVO confirmed that a nearby local business, Perkins Restaurant was flying their flag at half-staff in honor of the slain.
