Montana Golfer Still Waiting for $18,000 Hole-in-One Prize

Two years ago, a Helena man, Troy Peissig, made a one in a million shot. He aced an $18,000 hole-in-one contest at a charity tournament. So, what is this lucky lad doing with all his winnings? The answer is nothing. What? Why? Well, that is because he hasn’t seen even one cent of his winnings.

State authorities have now issued an arrest warrant for Kevin Kolenda, the operator of the insurance company, who failed to pay up on the policy purchased by the Missoula tournament.  This isn’t the first time Kolenda has failed to pay on a policy. He has been sanctioned by insurance regulators in Alabama, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Nevada, North Carolina and Washington. Montana regulators are moving aggressively to try to stop Kolenda from selling his insurance all over the country.

Kolenda claims the hole was too short and didn’t meet the 165 yard minimum on the policy contract. Kolenda noted that the normal length for the 12th hole on Missoula Country Club’s score card was 130 yards. However, the 12th hole at the Country Club was lengthened for that tournament to specifically meet the policy requirement.

Peissig isn’t counting on ever seeing his winnings. The only thing he hopes for now is that no one else would be swindled by this company again. However, it would have been nice for him to have the money as he recently became a new father.
