Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke may have to wait till March for confirmation hearings to become the next U.S. Secretary of the Interior. As the confirmation process drags on, there are now more candidates vying to replace Congressman Zinke in the U.S. House, including Democratic Primary candidate Gary Stein, a Sentinel High School teacher from Missoula.

"I really don't think that I would appeal to just democrats, I don't think of myself as a democrat. I think of myself as an American citizen who happens to live in Montana and is very concerned about the disintegration of civic virtue and competent public service."

Stein has big plans and has already sketched out an idea for his first bill, which, if passed, could cause some difficulty for President Donald Trump.

"My first bill would be to restrict the use of social media, specifically twitter, to the executive branch of government, that the executive branch of government would be restricted from releasing any information about what the executive branch is doing through Twitter. [Twitter] is an infantile means of communication and it should not be used as a form of public service in the United States.

Stein and many other primary candidates are in a holding pattern until Zinke is confirmed. Within 90 days of Zinke’s confirmation, a special election will be held in Montana. The primary election results by both Democrats and Republicans are expected within a few days of Zinke’s confirmation.
