Motorhead Urge Fans Not to Worry About Lemmy Kilmister’s Health After Shortened Wacken Set

After having to cut their set short on Aug. 2 at Germany’s Wacken Festival due to Lemmy Kilmister‘s health, Motorhead have urged fans not to worry about the frontman. Guitarist Phil Campbell has even told fans to ignore rumors perpetuated by “a–hole tweeters.”

“The show had to go on because that’s how Lemmy rolls,” Motorhead posted on their Facebook page. “Even though he was not 100% fit, he refused to feel he was letting the 85,000 Wacken fans down. They kicked ass in the 100+ degree heat for a shortened, but powerful, set before, Lemmy finally realized he might have bitten off a little more than he could chew. Thus he will embark upon the recuperation recommended. We know that rumors are flying around, but once he fully recharges, Motörhead will be back, don’t you worry!”

The band has posted a video (watch below) of part of their Wacken performance, which includes the songs ‘Damage Case,’ ‘Metropolis’ and ‘Over the Top.’ Motorhead only played six songs of the scheduled 75-minute set before pulling the plug.

Rumors were flying around the internet over the weekend after Motorhead’s shortened Wacken set. Guitarist Phil Campbell took to Twitter on Sunday to put those rumors to rest.

Motorhead’s latest album ‘Aftershock’ is due to be released this fall.
