Nationally Popular YouTuber with Missoula Connection Gives Royalties to a Fan

John Green and his brother, Missoula's Hank Green, have an extremely popular You Tube channel called Vlogbrothers, I'm sure you've seen it.

Hank was recently in the news for scoring an interview, and selfie, with President Barack Obama. John is now in the news for giving rightful royalties to a little girl who originated a phrase that he is known for.

"I am in love with cities I've never been to & people I've never met" is the quote in question. A 13-year-old fan of his has been getting bullied online for claiming that she is the originator of the quote. Turns out, she is.

John Green, being the great dude that he is, looked into it and found that Melody Truong is in fact, the person who came up with the phrase. Which by the way, is fantastic.

In John's defense, he genuinely meant no harm in claiming the phrase, he truly thought he had come up with it when he agreed to sell merch displaying it. And to prove it, he is giving all of the rightful royalties to his fan.

Now that my friends, is the proper way to admit when you're wrong.
