Sound like something you might be interested in? Good. Because it is my honor to share with you that Missoula now has a station for those of us who love 80's & current alternative and 90's grunge, "Alternative Missoula" - Alt 101.5.

You asked for it, over and over and over, and we are delivering what, I like to refer to, as the girlfriend of 96.3 The Blaze. The station will launch on Thursday, February 2nd at 10:15 a.m., so maybe set your reminder for 10:10. See how that works though? 101.5 at 10:15? OK, you got it. And I'll be playing music for you every morning from 6 a.m to 10 a.m., with my first show being this Friday the 3rd.

And speaking of the 101.5 frequency, those of you who listen to KGVO may be wondering where that station is going. Our partner news station, KGVO, is simply moving down the dial to 98.3, and will still be broadcasting from 1290 on the AM dial. If you are used to picking up KGVO in the Bitterroot, the station will be simulcasting on 1240 AM, KLYQ.

Alt 101.5 will be music intensive and community involved. We are very much looking forward to having our friends from Ear Candy Music joining our weekend on air staff! And we'll also have some rad gifts for you, like Alt 101.5 beanies and t-shirts, and chances to win tickets to the Sasquatch! Festival and Twenty One Pilots & Bastille in Bozeman.

Missoula, if you live a lifestyle that embraces playing, watching, listening to and studying music; playing in and loving the outdoors; caring about your community and the people who live here; making concert day and festivals a family affair; and passing on your love of really great music to your children - Alt 101.5 is the station you have been waiting for.

I have hand picked each and every song you will hear on the air, so I hope you dig it. And I haven't forgotten about my 17-year-old baby, 96.3 The Blaze. Nothing will change there, and I hope you will still join me afternoons from 2 p.m. - 7 p.m on The Blaze.

Dang! I was trying to keep this short. I almost forgot to tell you that our buddy Chris Shiflett of a little band called the FOO FIGHTERS is helping us bring Alt 101.5 together with the community on Sunday, March 26th. Gonna' be a rad show and tickets are only $18. Listen to Alt to win some!

Check for the Alt 101.5 app in your app store this Thursday and download it for FREE.

Been holding on to this wall covering for several decades, waiting for the day that I would launch an Alt music radio station in my hometown. It finally has a home.
