This week, Providence Medical Group announced that nine of their clinics received national recognition as Level Three Patient-Centered Medical Homes, the highest accreditation possible by the National Committee of Quality Assurance.

Western Montana region Manager Jodie Haines said the primary care clinics in western Montana have been working hard over the past few years to set the bar for primary care.

"Thanks to their hard work, we have been lucky to have earned this achievement of the highest level of recognition possible," Haines said. "All of our teams came together and met over 170 different factors to show and prove that the way we're delivering care is not only coordinated but comprehensive across the continuum for the patient. In looking toward the next era of patient care, you want to make sure that we're involving the patients and their families in their decision-making , and that the care team is also on board and they have access to a quality care team, wherever they access that care."

Haines said there are nine clinics throughout the western Montana region that have attained the highest accreditation.

"Right here in Missoula, we have five," she said. "They are Providence Broadway Internal Medicine, Grant Creek Family Medicine, Montana Internal Medicine, Women's Care and Family Wellness, and Missoula Family Medical. Outside Missoula we have Florence Family Medicine, Lifespan Family Medicine in Stevensville, St. Joseph's Medical Clinic in Polson and St. Joseph Medical Clinic in Ronan."

Medical homes foster ongoing partnerships between patients and their clinicians using multi-disciplinary care teams to coordinate treatment, follow-up and support. Research confirms that medical homes advance the “triple aim” of higher quality, better patient experience and cost containment.
