It’s hard to believe but the calendar year of 2017 is quickly approaching the end. The fall always features a flurry of major album releases, but most of the major discs for the year all arrive prior to Thanksgiving, just in time for the biggest shopping days of the year. While September and October were both stacked, the month of November gives us a wealth of great music as well.

It all starts on Nov. 3 where metal fans are anxiously awaiting the release of Cannibal Corpse‘s Red Before Black. There’s also been a five-year gap between Converge albums, making fans salivate for The Dusk in Us with great anticipation. Metal vets Annihilator are back with their 16th studio album For the Demented, while punk patrons Anti-Flag stir things up with their 12th release, American Fall. Metalcore upstarts Like Moths to Flames and hard rocking up and comers Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown also continue to build their base with the Dark Divine and self-titled albums.

Nov. 10 is the busiest week of the month, led by Evanescence‘s orchestral reimagining of their music with the Synthesis album. Joey Jordison‘s busy schedule includes a new Sinsaenum EP titled Ashes. Michael Sweet and George Lynch team up again for the Sweet & Lynch disc Unified and former Nightwish singer Anette Olzon turns up on The Dark Element‘s self-titled disc. Plus you can look for doom masters Electric Wizard delivering the deliciously dark Wizard Bloody Wizard. And for the completists out there, Metallica will dish out their expansive Master of Puppets reissue.

There are two releases expected to be hugely popular on Nov. 17 due to their broader career view — Green Day‘s Greatest Hits: God’s Favorite Band and the concert collection from Iron Maiden, The Book of Souls Live Chapter. Elsewhere on Nov. 17, Cavalera Conspiracy are ready to release more mayhem with their Psychosis disc, Korn bassist Fieldy serves up his Bassically solo set and Tarja gets in the holiday spirit with From Spirits and Ghosts (Score for a Dark Christmas). Plus look for Skillet taking Unleashed Beyond and The Obsessed reissuing their self-titled set.

And, given the holiday, the Nov. 24 schedule is pretty light with the Dimebag Darrell CD/DVD set, Dimevision Vol. 2: Roll With It or Get Rolled leading the way. Check out the full November hard rock and metal release schedule below and be aware that more albums may be announced between now and the beginning of the month while some dates could also shift.
