One Part King’s X, One Part Lauryn Hill, One Part The Mars Volta . . .

I know, the band name doesn't exactly roll off the tongue. But the title is accurate: this new band consists of Doug "dUg" Pinnick (former King's X), Eric Gales (blues guitarist from Lauryn Hill's band), and drummer Thomas Pridgen (former The Mars Volta). Their new record is self-titled, and available in February.

Am I interested in hearing more? Damn right. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a big King's X fan, and the label site mentions a tuned down, grungy version of Cream's "Sunshine of Your Love." Count me in.
