February 16th Summaries
-Angie at Bob Wards says for kokannee on the Helena Holding Reservoir tip your jigs with white corn, maggots, or Swedish Pimples. Canyon Ferry Lake has trout hopping on the South end. And in Butte Delmo has had great reports for those that can access it. Georgetown Lake has been a little off this week.
-Bill Brown at Bob Wards says Seeley Lake is starting to pick up on Northerns down by the outlets, and reminds us bear and turkey season are just around the corner and the time is ripe to site in at the range.
-Brett French Outdoor editor of the Billings Gazette and Dan Bailey with MT Hunters & Anglers exchange thoughts on corner to corner crossings for hunters under review in Helena for that access.
-Chancy at Snappy’s says there’s still some pretty good ice up there. Upper Stillwater has had good reports on Mackinaw.
-Dale from Don’s in Lewistown says the bite is on in Central Montana.
-Dallas at Highline Cleaners in Chester says the action is on the perch, and got a report of 1 big northern.
-Leonard from Robert’s Bait and Tackle says we’re losing ice.
-Mary Beth Kibler of Kibler Outfitting says the fishing is good at Hellcreek Marina for Northern’s, walleye, and perch.
-Robert from Malta Marine says fishing on Nelson is pretty steady.
-Ron Aashiem says HB 73 you can take up to 3 wolves now, 200 harvested so far this season, and season closes on the 28th of February.
- Shelby from Rocky Mountain Supply in Dillon says the Beaverhead is starting to do well with wooly buggers and zonkers, and the same on Big Hole
-Tammy from Northwest Sports in Eureka says there are reports of weak ice, low water, and slow fishing.
-Woody from Woody’s Lures in Townsend says in White Sulpher Springs Martindale the ice is still excellent and doing well. For the hunters, be sure you peal them out like a sock.
