Pearl Jam Working On A New Album — Angel’s Rock Report
With all of the members of Pearl Jam playing side-project shows this spring, it’s surprising they’d actually have time to work together — but that’s what they’ve been doing the past two weeks. Guitarist Mike McCready tells the OC Weekly, “We’re in the process of everyone bringing their demos and getting their songs out there.” Pearl Jam are working once again with producer Brendan O’Brien. McCready adds that they haven’t set a deadline to finish the album.
And here’s another Pearl Jam side project to keep track of this spring — McCready and his original Seattle band, Shadow, will play a couple of shows with Duff McKagan’s Loaded in Costa Rica at the end of this month.
On this day in 1982, Ozzy Osbourne guitarist Randy Rhoads was killed after the pilot of a small airplane he was in flew low to buzz Osbourne’s tour bus, then failed to re-gain height and crashes in a nearby woods. He was 25.
Rhoads’s fast-tapping style of playing on Ozzy’s first two solo albums, Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman, has inspired countless guitar players over the past three decades.
Sounds like people checked out 21 Jump Street, it was #1 at the box office over the weekend bringing in $35 million. Even though it has zero to do with the original series. I’m convinced that the only reason people saw it is because the new Will Ferrell movie is only in select theaters.
