Since the Judd Apatow produced Pee-wee Herman movie made its move from movie theaters to Netflix (Universal passed on the film and Netflix quickly picked up the rights), we’ve been anxiously awaiting more from the first Pee-wee movie in over 25 years. Well, today the first trailer for Pee-wee’s Big Holiday has arrived and also brings with it the announcement of when it will debut on Netflix.

We still don’t know much about the movie — “A fateful meeting with a mysterious stranger inspires Pee-wee Herman to take his first-ever holiday in this epic story of friendship and destiny.” — but that’s about to change as it turns out the next Pee-wee movie is only two months away.

This trailer doesn’t give away much, other than Spot appears to still be around, Pee-wee’s lawn is curiously overgrown and Mr. Herman still has a penchant for elaborate Rube Goldberg devices. Joining Pee-wee in the film are Joe Manganiello, Jessica Pohly, Alia Shawkat and Stephanie Beatriz and presumably many cameos that haven’t yet been announced.

The trailer confirms that Pee-wee’s Big Holiday will premiere on Netflix on March 18. Before that, we know the new Pee-wee movie will have its formal premiere at the SXSW Film Festival in Austin, which runs from March 11-19.
