Seeing the rivers rise in spring, you can only think about where all that water is coming from. Simply look up on the mountain and you will find out. All that fluffy white snow is melting and making its way down to the river. So why doesn't everybody just strip down and go swimming? Sounds refreshing.

You couldn't pay me to jump into water that was recently a snowbank. I would like to see my manhood again one of these days. Jumping into a cold river would bring on the "scared turtle effect." There is a chance my "boys" might just move into my torso and never come back.

Some people are crazy enough to challenge the rapids, in MAY. And not just any rapids. The legendary Lochsa River. The water is high and the boats are out. See first person footage of a "goober flip" in the frigid waters of the Lochsa.
