It's on! Powerman 5000 are on their way back with new music, slotting in their New Wave album for an Oct. 27 street date via Pavement Music. And to get the ball rolling, they've released a new single called "Sid Vicious in a Dress" (heard in the player above).

Opening with some synths offset by crushing guitar, the track fits perfectly into the high energy, aggressive realm of music that Powerman 5000 have crafted so well over the years. As you might gather from the title, the band are singing about a girl who's just a bit chaotic, earning herself the descriptor "Sid Vicious in a Dress."

Singer Spider One says of the track, “I suppose at its simplest it’s a twisted love song, but really it’s about loving what hurts you, what is bad for you. Staying when you should run. Over the years, Sid Vicious has become the poster child for chaos and self-destruction. I just took that and put it in the form of a beautiful girl. The title of the song kind of says it all.”

As stated, the song is featured on Powerman 5000's eleventh studio album New Wave. This marks their first release since 2014's Builders of the Future disc. It's currently available to pre-order via Amazon and iTunes, where you can get "Sid Vicious in a Dress" as an instant grat track available immediately upon placing your order. You can also purchase the album via the Pavement Music bundle option which gives you a hand-signed copy of the album with a Powerman 5000 t-shirt. Get details on that here.
