The adventures of Wes Scantlin continued late last week as Puddle of Mudd ended up having to cancel a performance in Flint, Mich. after the vocalist missed his plane.

While the band has not issued a comment on the situation, The Machine Shop venue where the group was supposed to play Friday night alerted fans to what was going on in advance of the show. They issued the following statement:

In case you hadn't see the earlier announcement tonight's PUDDLE OF MUDD concert was just cancelled by their management due to Wes Scanlon not getting on the plane. We do not know all the details, but the band is in town and the gear is here. We are beyond frustrated with this situation. Most unprofessional situation in the almost 14 years we have been open. We are very sorry that Puddle Of Mudd has disappointed everyone. Etix is refunding all online purchases right now. The rest of the tickets will be refunded at the club. WE WILL STAY OPEN TONIGHT FOR A FREE SHOW with Sour Jane, Tripp 'N' Dixie & Ironsnake!!

The venue later posted a thank you on their Facebook page to the bands who did play and to all the patrons who still came out to the show despite the absence of the headliners.

Over the past few years, the Puddle of Mudd singer's behavior has been somewhat erratic. This year alone he was arrested in Denver for taking a joy ride on the airport baggage carousel, which led to the venue where the band was playing to have to stretch out the evening's entertainment while the singer was being bailed out. The promoters vowed to never book the band again.

Meanwhile, during an April 2 show in Scottsdale, Ariz, the vocalist had an onstage meltdown in which he reportedly smashed his own guitar, microphones and a portion of the drummer's kit after just three songs before walking offstage. There are also additional onstage meltdowns and brushes with the law that have occurred over the last few years.

At present, Puddle of Mudd have some time off before their next show. They resume touring on July 9 in Kankakee, Ill., with dates booked into early September. See their itinerary here.
