Alt-rock icons Queens of the Stone Age are said to have been working on a new album since 2014, offering sparse updates on their progress along the way. With no timeline for a release, it has been hard to estimate when a new record will arrive and while no details have emerged on this front, fans can rest a little easier knowing this long-anticipated platter of new music has officially been mixed!

Arthur Dénouveaux of Left Front Door Records posted a photo on Instagram, which shows Queens of the Stone standing behind a mixing console at the Lurssen Mastering Studio in Burbank, Calif., captioned with, "An album just got mixed" along with tags the band's name and members.

Earlier this month, Queens of the Stone Age cryptically teased a new announcement, posted a photo of the letter "Q," which then became known as the "shattered Q" around the Internet, accompanied by the text, "Coming twenty-five." The significance of the text remains unknown with anniversaries out of the question considering Josh Homme formed the group in 1996.

The band has booked a number of headlining festival dates in the U.S. and elsewhere around the globe and a handful of stops in Australia and New Zealand. For a list of all upcoming dates, head to the Queens of the Stone Age website.

It's been four year since the group released the chart-topping ...Like Clockwork, but the band's members have remained busy since finishing the album tour. Homme teamed up with Iggy Pop to cut the 2016 standout album Post Pop Depression while Van Leeuwen joined Gone Is Gone with members of Mastodon, At the Drive In and more, releasing their Echolocation debut earlier this year.
