As teased beforehand, the Red Hot Chili Peppers took the stage at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum for a pre-game performance welcoming back the Rams football team to Los Angeles for their home opener Sunday (Sept. 18).

The performance was a brief but memorable one as the Chili Peppers appeared onstage decked out in Rams football pants and jerseys. The band opened with a full-on jam, before rocking out the classic "Can't Stop" and their current single "Dark Necessities" for the audience. Though the uniforms were a nice touch, it wasn't long before Anthony Kiedis doffed his Jared Goff jersey in favor of going shirtless. Meanwhile, Chad Smith played on a drum kit with a specially designed Rams logo embedded with the Chili Peppers iconography.

After the performance, the Chili Peppers helped bring out the Rams to the field to the cheers of the crowd. Chili Peppers vocalist Anthony Kiedis, bassist Flea and guitarist Josh Klinghoffer all grew up in Los Angeles and Flea has been vocal about being a fan of the team, dating back to his youth. See photos and video from the performance below.

Red Hot Chili Peppers are currently in the midst of supporting their new album, The Getaway. Having returned stateside just to play the Rams home opener, the band will travel back to Europe to continue their latest slate of dates in Madrid, Spain on Sept. 27. See all of their stops here.
