In January of 2016, I took a little 28-day "vacation." Now, I'll be sharing how getting sober has affected my life at an event coming up at Caras Park. (Public speaking, scary!)

Facing Recovery is a gathering to celebrate locals in recovery as well as the 5th anniversary of Recovery Center Missoula. As my child, wise beyond her years, once said to me: "asking for help is not a weakness, it's a strength." I absolutely agree that those who have reached out for help and found success deserve to be celebrated.

Join us on Sunday, September 16th at 4 p.m. for your classic Caras Park stuff like food trucks, live music, and great prizes. Mayor John Engen will also share his story of recovery, and lots of wonderful & inspiring peeps will be on hand to answer questions that you may have about getting help, sticking with it and how to help your own friends & family.

On a personal note, thank YOU for your continued support! I love that y'all are kind enough to offer to buy me a soda rather than a beer when I see you at concerts. You're the freakin' BEST.
