My family loves Rice Krispie treats. I love them too. Not especially for how they taste, but because of how easy they are to make. They are an easy last-minute treat or dessert. They are also great because they don’t take expensive or strange ingredients. Most of these ingredients I keep in my pantry at all times.

This recipe takes the classic Rice Krispie treat makes them a bit more festive and fun. These are great for kids’ parties because they keep kids’ hands from getting sticky thanks to the popsicle sticks, and kids love sprinkles. These would also make great holiday treats, simply change the color of the sprinkles to match the holiday.

Rice Krispie Party Pops

1 bag mini marshmallows

4 tablespoons butter

6 cups Rice Krispie cereal

Popsicle sticks

1 bar semi-sweet baker’s chocolate

Sprinkles

Throw the marshmallows and butter into a large microwaveable bowl. Heat for 45 seconds and then stir. Repeat this until the marshmallows have melted completely. Now add the Rice Krispie cereal and stir until combined. Scoop the cereal mix into a greased 9×13 inch pan. Pack it down tight and then set it aside and let it cool.

Once cooled, cut the treats into long thick strips. Pry the bars out of the pan. Gently push the popsicle sticks into the treats and then set aside.

Place a few squares of the baker’s chocolate in a cup and microwave for 30 seconds at a time, stir and then repeat until the chocolate has melted. Dip the ends of the party pops the melted chocolate. Toss a few sprinkles on chocolate while it is still hot and then set aside to cool.
