Can you imagine Korn without Fieldy? Well, it's about to become a reality as the band prepares to hit South American for a small series of headlining dates. Fans in attendance, however, will be treated to something incredibly special as Tye Trujillo, 12-year-old son of Metallica bassist Robert Trujillo, is set to fill in for Fieldy!

Korn made the announcement on their Facebook page (post below). stating Fieldy will not be joining them on this tour due to "unforeseen circumstances." Collectively, the band commented, “We are bummed Fieldy can’t join us on this run, but excited to do a few gigs with a young player like Tye. We look forward to welcoming our brother Fieldy back when we return to the States in May." They went on to add that Fieldy will be back in action with the group on May 6 at the Carolina Rebellion festival.

Tye currently plays bass in a group called The Helmets, who have plenty of live experience and even played Lollapalooza's Kidsapalooza in Chicago in 2015. The group formed when the band's members were roughly 8 years old.

Korn will hit North America for a small headlining run with support from Animals as Leaders and DED and some festival dates peppered into the routing. Meanwhile, Metallica's North American stadium tour will be rounded on by Avenged Sevenfold, Volbeat and Gojira on select dates.
