Yesterday (May 4) during a Ringling Brothers And Barnum & Bailey Circus performance at Dunkin' Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island, nine acrobats were doing a 'human chandelier' when all of them fell to the floor.  The human chandelier is a stunt where the acrobats hang by their hair from a giant circle about 15 feet from the ground. During this performance, the equipment malfunctioned causing all of them to fall.

Every time I'm at a circus or performance of this nature, I always think to myself 'please don't let this be the one where somebody falls.' I imagine some parents will be suing Ringling Brothers for their children's emotional trauma.

There were no casualties but nine acrobats were critically injured, and some of the other performers suffered injuries as well.
