It's been a popular thing to do this summer - look through the telescope lens at the Blue Mountain Observatory.

The University of Montana Department of Physics and Astronomy has added another observing night this Friday, July 28.

But, these sessions are selling out. Besides the July 28 viewing, only September 15 and September 22 had free tickets left, as of last week. So, if you want tickets ....

The department is using Eventbrite online to register participants.

And, of course, you'll need to check with the department on the viewing day to see if the weather is cooperating.

Take along a good flashlight and drive up through the Blue Mountain Recreation Area to get to the Blue Mountain Forest Service lookout. It's a short walk from the parking lot to the observatory. More information is available at their Facebook page.
