Slayer Calls It Quits!!

One of the biggest thrash metal icons have disbanded. Months ago guitarist, Jeff Hanneman suffered a terrible spider bite on his arm that left him sidelined for several tours. Today Jeff released a statement resigning from the band “effective immediately”. After Jeff’s departure the band released this statement: “We want to thank Gary Holt [Exodus guitarist] and Pat O’Brien [Cannibal Corpse guitarist], as well as all of our fans for their support these past few months. But with Hanneman’s mind made up, we simply can’t move on.”

This is a truly sad day in the metal world. You can read teh full news story from Metalinsider.com HERE
