39 year-old Patrick Studley is in the Missoula County Jail charged with multiple felonies, including forgery, deceptive practices,issuing bad checks and identity theft on $160,000 bond.

Studley appeared via video from the jail before Judge Marie Anderson in Missoula Justice Court on Thursday afternoon.

According to court documents, Studley has been extremely busy over the last several months in allegedly illegal activities.

 

'He created numerous fictitious checking, credit card and business credit card accounts using various alias personal and company names. This investigation shows that Studley used these fictitious accounts to fraudulently obtain merchandise and services totaling almost $30,000 from businesses in Missoula and Ravalli County', court documents read.

Court documents state that Studley illegally purchased a vehicle from Billion Kia for nearly $7,000, stayed at a Missoula hotel for 33 days with a woman and two children and paid with a bad check worth $7,000, and several more incidents of bad checks on fictitious accounts.

The penalties for the felony charges are up to 20 years and over $50,000 in fines for each count.

Judge Anderson set bail for Studley at $100,000, and he was remanded back to the Missoula County Jail.
