A statewide Amber alert test is scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, January 13th, at 10 a.m.

Not only will you hear the test on the radio, but you will also receive the test on your cell phone. Wanted to give you a heads up on this one, as last time people were a bit taken back when it happened, especially for those in public places where everybody received the test at once. The sound of the test is quite loud.

Montana’s AMBER Alert system is activated to alert the public when law enforcement believes a child has been abducted under life-threatening circumstances.  Since Montana’s AMBER Alert Program was established in 2003, there have been 32 AMBER Alerts issued; seven of them were for abductions that occurred in other states or Canada.  Due to strong public participation, all 47 children were located.  Tragically, four were located deceased.
