Three Mile and Stevensville Fire District equipment and personnel were called early Tuesday morning to a structure fire in which a garage, shop and several vehicles were destroyed.

Three-Mile Chief Russ Giese said Tuesday afternoon "the shop and garage were fully involved on our arrival, and all the contents, the vehicles were a total loss, including a 5th wheel trailer parked by the side of the garage." The value of the destroyed building and the vehicles "would easily be over $100,000," Giese said.

The fire, which occurred on Bowman Ranch Road, started at about 5:30 a.m. The homeowner was alerted when he heard a popping sound coming from the garage, and then called the Three-Mile Fire Department. Giese said the Stevensville Fire Department assisted and there were approximately 10 fire department vehicles along with 30 firefighters on the scene.

Giese said the cause of the fire is still under investigation by the State Fire Marshall who remained at the site.
