Stone Temple Pilots showed that their new singer Jeff Gutt can rock, via their first new songs, with "Meadow" and "Roll Me Under." Now, they're giving fans a chance to hear their new lineup's softer side with the new track "The Art of Letting Go."

The third song to come from their upcoming self-titled set is a reflective and somewhat melancholic track, floating along through the verses on a steady acoustic guitar lead from Dean DeLeo with a build toward the chorus where Gutt gets to showcase a bit of his vocal range.

"I hope to see your smile again / But some day’s far too long of a road / The Art of Letting Go / I may be setting myself up to have to / Walk the streets alone / For letting go," sings Gutt in the track.

Stone Temple Pilots are closing in on the release of their new album, with the self-titled set due to arrive on March 16. There's also a vinyl version of the new disc following on May 25.

Speaking to us last fall about the experience working on the album, Gutt stated, "This record is full of amazing songs and vibes that I feel are really missing in the spectrum of today’s music. It has that STP feeling even though I’m singing. But I also didn’t come in trying to change everything. It was the most rewarding record I’ve ever been a part of. I feel like it healed some things and also brings new ingredients into the fold of such an iconic band."

The revamped version of the band will kick off a leg of North American tour dates on March 2 in Santa Clarita, Calif., with shows booked into the summer. See all of their tour and festival stops listed here.
