Strawberry Shortcake and Tasty Tunes at Daly Mansion Thursday

The annual feast of music and strawberry shortcake is happening Thursday, July 28, at the Daly Mansion, northeast of Hamilton.

The Bitterroot Community Band will perform an extended concert of an eclectic mix of music, starting at 7 p.m. Admission to the Mansion grounds will be $5 for adults, $3 for children age 6 and up. Kids 5 and under are free. The family price is $15. The money raised helps pay for sheet music and equipment for the band.

For those who'd like to bring their own picnic, the gates open at 6 p.m. We've even seen candelabras on picnic blankets.

The band, a talented group of volunteers, takes an intermission during the concert, and out comes the strawberry shortcake. The dessert is served up for $3 each and we can attest that it is a perfect dish for a summer evening.

So, bring your blankets, lawn chairs and friends to the annual concert.
