During the Summer the barbecue at my house gets used every day, sometimes more than once in a day. We cook almost everything on the barbecue when the weather is hot. This is mainly because we love the taste, but it also helps to keep the house cool too, not having to turn the oven on.

We make everything from toasting garlic bread, steaks, hot dogs, hamburgers, roasted peppers, corn on the cob, and even pizza on our barbecue. By far the most popular thing we make on the barbecue are hamburgers. We eat them at least once a week, if not more. So, when I ran across this delicious way to spice up our burgers, I just had to try it.

This recipe makes the perfect spice to add a little something extra to burgers and even occasionally to fries too this summer.

Summertime Burger and Fry Spice

1/4 cup salt

2 tablespoons paprika

1 tablespoon onion salt

1 tablespoon garlic salt

1/2 tablespoon cumin

1/2 tablespoon black pepper

1/2 tablespoon dried basil

½ tablespoon dried parsley

1 teaspoon chili powder

1/2 teaspoon celery salt

Toss all of the ingredients into a bowl and whisk until well combined. Pour the whole thing into a jar with a lid and store with your other spices.
