National Weather Service forecaster Ryan Leach says Western Montana and Eastern Idaho experienced over a thousand lightning strikes from Sunday’s thunderstorms, however, he says Lake County felt the brunt of the storms.

Leach says strong winds from a micro-burst between St. Ignatius and Polson uprooted trees and led to flash-flood warnings from Pablo to Polson. He says more slow-moving thunderstorms will move through Western Montana today.
