The fans ultimately had the final say and in the end it's fitting that the 2013 Revolver Golden Gods Awards spread the wealth when it came to the night's top categories. Deftones, Corey Taylor and Slipknot were among the evening's top honorees.
Corey Taylor enjoyed success with his 'Seven Deadly Sins' book in 2012 and somehow amidst all of his Stone Sour and Slipknot's plans, he's managed to write and complete his second book. 'Funny Thing Happened on the Way to Heaven (Or, How I Made Peace With the Paranormal and Stigmatized Zealots and Cynics in the Process)' is on schedule for a July 16 release through Da Cappo Press.
It's been a busy year for Corey Taylor, who not only is promoting Stone Sour's upcoming 'House of Gold & Bones Part 2' album, but has also enjoyed some extra recognition for his collaboration with Dave Grohl, Rick Nielsen and Scott Reeder on the single 'From Can to Can't' that's part of the soundtrack for Grohl's 'Sound City' documentary. Loudwire recently spoke with Taylor, who revealed that he's thrilled to have had the opportunity to work with Grohl and still has a few names on his dream collaborator list.
As a member of Slipknot and Stone Sour, you would expect Corey Taylor's interests to lie on the hard rock and metal side, but the vocalist says he also has other musical interests as well, which might take him in the direction of recording a dance album someday.
When Stone Sour vocalist Corey Taylor initially revealed his band's "grand" plan for their next album, he might have undersold it. As it turns out, releasing the album in two parts is only the beginning, as Taylor is plotting a comic book companion piece and now he's contemplating turning both discs into films.
I checked out a teaser trailer on Loudwire.com earlier. I couldn't figure out what the message Sid Wison was trying to get across. It was borderline disturbing trying to wrap my head around what the hell was going on. Luckily a couple hours later, Corey Taylor tweeted what the video was all about. But he still managed to be all "cryptic" about the damn thing.
Slipknot and Stone Sour frontman Corey Taylor recently sat down with actor John Cusack in a ‘Rogue on Rogue’ interview. During the in-depth discussion between the two expressive minds, Taylor and Cusack spoke about the parallels found between both music and film inspired by the darker end of existence.
