Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl is diving head-first into yet another project. With Grohl acting as director, a yet-unnamed HBO series will document an eight-city journey that the Foos traveled while recording their upcoming studio album.
It was the hug felt 'round the world. Kurt Cobain's widow, Courtney Love, who had battled with Krist Novoselic and to a greater extent Dave Grohl over how to handle Nirvana's musical legacy over the years, openly embraced both during her speech at the band's Rock Hall and Roll Hall of Fame induction. But even before the public got to see the peaceful public declaration, there was a more private one.
One of the great things about the Seattle scene of the early '90s was the incredible amount of talent and craftsmanship that continually raised the bar among the top bands in the area. Those in attendance at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony at the Barclays Center arena last night were certainly treated to a nice surprise when the surviving members of Nirvana performed with various female singers to close out the event. Here we are now! Entertain us! And for during the late '80s and early '90s that's exactly what Nirvana did. The band's meteoric rise to fame was saluted on Thursday night (April 10) as they were officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Last night (Feb. 9), a momentous television event aired on CBS celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Beatles' arrival to the United States. The band's performance on 'The Ed Sullivan Show' introduced America to the Beatles, beginning the biggest rock and roll revolution of all time. In tribute to that day, 'The Night That Changed America: A Grammy Salute to the Beatles' aired featuring performances from Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, along with Foo Fighters / Nirvana rocker Dave Grohl.
