Just before 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, the Missoula City Fire Department responded to a gas line hit and rupture that occurred at the intersection of 34th Street and Bellecrest Drive.
Residents in the areas affected by last summer's Lolo Creek fire complex were advised by fire and sheriff's office personnel on Tuesday afternoon to prepare for possible flooding this spring.
The Frenchtown Middle and High School complex was evacuated on March 20 after two bomb threats were discovered in a school bathroom. A student has been cited for the incident, and has been suspended from classes, in addition to facing criminal charges in youth court.
UPDATE - Sunday, March 16, 11:10 a.m.
After Missoula Alliance Church was evacuated at about 10:20 a.m., a technician from Northwestern Energy said methane gas had built up under a seldom used the mechanical room.
Update 1 p.m. 9/17- Though the Miller Creek fire is still burning, wet weather and cold temperatures today have helped firefighters make quick work of the blaze.
Based on the high water levels and the possibility that it could continue to rise in the coming hours, County Officials suggest that residents in significantly affected areas secure alternate housing accommodations. The longer citizens wait, the greater the possibility of increasing hazards and more dangerous conditions for them and emergency responders...
