There are a lot of NFL fans that don't have a lot to smile about these days. The playoffs have been surprisingly rough on many teams and their fans, and that doesn't even take into consideration all of the teams that didn't even make it into the postseason.
There isn't much that can be down now though, except maybe laugh at their expense. Check out this compilation of bad lip reading replaced with much funnier comments.
Saturday, Nov. 1 brought The University of Montana Grizzlies and the Montana State University Bobcats together for the 112th meeting on the gridiron. The Cats won this year's "Brawl of the Wild," which was held in Missoula, 16-7
A Utah youth football coach is being charged with assault for allegedly hitting an opposing player as he ran down the sideline. The 7th grade player supposedly suffered a season ending concussion. When the video surfaced, Nathan Harris was arrested and charged with second degree child abuse. That charge was later dropped to assault. Free Beer and Hot Wings weigh in on the situation and try to figure out if the coach is truly at fault.
So this video might not make you cry, but the story probably will. Michael Ferns, a senior at St. Clairsville High in Clairsville, OH, gave up a touchdown one yard from the end zone so that his teammate, Logan Thompson, whose father died two days before, could score instead.
University of Montana Grizzly linebacker Brock Coyle was selected by the Big Sky Conference Monday as the ROOT Sports co-defensive player of the week for his performance against Northern Colorado on Saturday.
As you may have heard, hobos and miscreants are in charge of refereeing NFL games now! Or, rather, the NFL has decided to use high school referees as replacements while it negotiates with the actual referees' union, which has led to the occasional minor controversy. And while Monday's night's disastrous ending to the Packers-Seahawks game is probably the pinnacle (or nadir) of this sad saga, there were already plenty of questionable, puzzling and downright infuriating officiating decisions leading up to it.
Let's have a look, shall we?

I'm a huge Seahawks fan - like so huge that I was jumping up and down in the middle of Buffalo Wild Wings as it appeared that the Seahawks had beat the Green Bay Packers in tonight's (Sept. 24) Monday Night Football game. However, after seeing the replay, it became rapidly clear to me, and the other Seahawks fans in the bar, that we had nothing to cheer about.
'Streaks were meant to be broken'. 'It had to happen sometime'. Phrases like these were overheard after the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks came into Washington Grizzly stadium in Missoula and do what few teams had done...beat Montana...and during Homecoming.
The Sentinel High School vs. Flathead High School JV football game scheduled for 3:30 p.m. today, Sept. 21, in Missoula has been cancelled. It has been rescheduled to 4 p.m., Monday, Sept. 24, in Kalispell at Flathead High School. Clarification: This game was canceled because school officials were unable to secure enough referees, not because of poor air quality. The 7 p.m. varsity game at Missoula County High School stadium is still scheduled.
Big Sky High School-CM Russell sophomore and varsity football games cancelled due to smoke.
