Thursday night marked the grand opening of a new, 2-mile stretch of paved trail up Grant Creek that ties more than just houses together, but neighborhoods and businesses west of Missoula...Not to mention great hiking and biking trails too!
If you’ve lived in Missoula long enough, you have probably floated the Clark Fork or the Blackfoot at some point. My friends and I have loaded up our inner tubes and floating coolers dozens of times; we’re always up for a nice, leisurely trip down the river.
On Tuesday, all of Mount Jumbo will be open to hikers and recreationists. Parts of the mountain are closed during the winter so that a herd of elk thereb will not be stressed by the presence of humans or dogs.
I have never been much for hiking. When someone approaches me and asks "Hey K.C., wanna go on a hike?", I look at them like "For what?". For me hiking is pointless unless I have a fishing pole, rifle, bow or a frisbee in my hands...
