In the tradition of sharing Ideas Worth Spreading, I have been asked to speak at the 2015 Tedx Whitefish event this Monday because I too have an idea that I would like to spread. But first, a little more insight on what TED Talks is truly about:

According to Tedx Whitefish:

TED is an acronym (that) stands for Technology, Entertainment, and Design. However, today the topics encompass a much broader spectrum. TED originally started as a four-day conference in California in 1984, and has grown to support world-changing ideas with multiple initiatives. At TED, the world’s leading thinkers and doers are asked to give the talk of their lives in 18 minutes. Talks are then made available free, at TED.com. Speakers have included Bill Gates, Jane Goodall, and Sir Ken Robinson.

Here is a brief preview of my speech titled Surprising Montana Discoveries From a Harmless Hacker:

"Right now, the state of Montana is front and center in the media. Every news organization has a story about our recent rape related court cases. Montana has been cast into a dark shadow of criticism, labels and stereotypes by newspapers, television and most recently, published novels.

But now more than ever we have a chance to make the biggest and most positive impact in the eyes of others even when it appears that we have the certain forms of media against us. Why?

Because I have the data and insights that will open the minds of others about Montana...

I know what you are thinking, "But wait, how do you know all this? Aren’t you just that guy who spins records at parties?" Well, yes. However, my social media experiment that allowed me a gateway into marketing my dance parties (while utilizing slightly rogue techniques) truly became something much larger than I ever anticipated..."

This is a story that I never thought I would have a chance to tell, and frankly, was too SCARED to reveal. Now more than ever, I feel it should be shared! With this speech, I hope to enlighten and empower you with the knowledge and tools needed to aid our community while it is being torn apart by the press. I hope you can join us.
