Truth be told, this is just regular Kahlua. However, it is the holiday season. My good friend and co-worker found this delicious recipe and gave it to me. It is a big hit with my family. I couldn’t believe how simple it was, and how great it tasted. I’m planning on making a bottle for the adults on my Christmas list this year.

Kahlua

3 cups very black coffee

3 cups sugar

3 cups vodka

3 teaspoons vanilla

Brew coffee however you would at home, except make it extra strong. In a saucepan on your stovetop, pour coffee and sugar together and heat on medium heat until the sugar granules melt. Then pour mixture into a bottle or glass and let it cool in the fridge. This is a very important step because if the coffee and sugar mixture is not cool enough, the alcohol in the vodka will dissipate. Once the sugar and coffee mixture has cooled completely, add the vodka and vanilla.
