Top 5 Candies You Should Steal From Your Kid’s Halloween Bucket

I’m not a huge fan of Halloween. It’s always such a hassle to find costumes the kids all like, throw them in the car and drive them around for hours trick-or-treating. The 150 trips in and out of the car are enough to make anyone crazy. There are always 15 relatives you have to go see and none of them seem to live near each other. But, there is one bright side to all this running around. It’s candy. Yep loads and loads of candy. Here is a list of my favorite candies. You should tell your kids they are unsafe, so they will be afraid to even eat one.

Almond Joy – If you love coconut, then you these are a must have. I love the sweetness of the coconut mixed with a thin layer of chocolate. The extra crunch you get from the lone almond rounds this treat out perfectly.

Heath – If you love toffee and a great crunch, then this is the bar for you. I love how the thin layer of chocolate and the toffee seem to melt in your mouth at the same time. I enjoy having these treats with coffee.

Mini Reeses Peanut Butter Cups – I am not a huge fan of peanut butter. I like it, but in moderation. I think the regular size cups peanut butter to chocolate ratio is a little off, but the minis are just perfect. Delicious soft peanut butter and chocolate come together to make sweet heaven in your mouth.

Twix – These are my husband’s favorite. The caramel and cookie covered in chocolate makes for a nice soft first half of a bite, and then the crunch comes. It is a perfect marriage of these three ingredients. Twix are said to be made from cookies, but I’ve never had a cookie that tasted this good.

Butterfingers – There are just sometimes that nothing else will do. Nothing else is capable of satisfying that sweet buttery crunch quite like a butterfinger. My only criticism is that it could stand the layer of chocolate to be a smidge thicker.

You may have noticed that only chocolate candies made it onto my list. That is because I am prejudice against all candies that do not contain chocolate.
