The University of Montana’s Zack Wagenmann has been named The Big Sky Conference’s Co-Defensive player of the week. Wagenmann shared the award with Montana State linebacker Na’a Moeakiola, according to UM Sports information.

A 6-3, 240-pound sophomore from Missoula, Mont., Wagenmann, forced two fumbles and had two sacks and six tackles in Montana’s 24-21 win over Weber State. He forced a fumble late in the third quarter that was recovered by the Grizzlies. Then in the fourth quarter he forced another fumble on a sack, which led to Montana’s game-deciding field goal with 3:53 left in the game. Wagenmann leads the Big Sky with 11 sacks and is ranked fifth in the FCS, averaging 1.10 sacks per contest.  He is the Grizzlies’ sixth leading tackler with 47 stops.

Eastern Washington quarterback Vernon Adams was named the Offensive Player of the Week, while Northern Colorado returner Dominic Gunn and North Dakota return man Greg Hardin shared the Co-Special Teams Players of the Week award.
