As we Missoulians know, there is no place like Montana in the summer. The weather is amazing and there is so much to do. It’s one of the best places to live and enjoy the outdoors. If you’re looking for a few ways to enjoy this summer, then here’s a list of things to make sure you do before fall hits.

Roast marshmallows over an open fire and use it to make a s’more.

You can have a feast for your belly and your ears at Out to Lunch in Caras Park every Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Barbecue as much as possible. From veggies to meats, you can grill just about anything.

Picnics are a must in the summer. It’s just not the same packing a delicious lunch to enjoy in a beautiful white meadow of snow.

Walk barefoot in the grass. There’s nothing quite like the smell of fresh cut grass and the way it feels between your toes.

Take in an Osprey game. Watching a little baseball is a great way to spend a warm summer Missoula night.

String up a hammock between two trees and climb in. Take an afternoon siesta in the shade on a lazy summer day.

Jump in the car and take a short drive up into the woods and pick some fresh Montana huckleberries.

Enjoy the Western Montana Fair right here in Missoula. It only comes once a year, every August, so enjoy it while it’s here.

Take a stroll downtown at Missoula’s farmers market. It’s a great way to find local food and goods.

Camp out at any one of Montana’s state parks.

Catch a delicious trout out of a local lake or stream and cook it over an open flame.

Enjoy Downtown Tonight at Caras Park every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., which has activities and events for kids and adults.

Hike, bike or run Missoula’s many trails, hills or peaks.
