Montana State University has asked season ticket holders to pay extra for the upcoming football season to pay for increased travel and insurance costs.

University of Montana Athletic Director Kent Haslam says the Grizzly athletic department is on a five-year budget plan, in which anticipated increases in fuel, insurance and scholarships has already been taken into consideration. Haslam says Grizzly football season ticket holders saw a modest increase in price for the 2013 season.

Haslam acknowledged that the past year and a half has been difficult, with various investigations and court cases, along with a 5-6 season record. He said now that head coach Mick Delaney has his own staff assembled and with what he called 'a tremendous recruiting class,' that 2013 would be a much better year for Grizzly football, and the University of Montana.

Haslam said the season ticket packages went out several weeks ago, but that it was too soon to gauge responses from fans.
